Are You Ready?

At the heart of the dreamslide is the APS (Adaptive Pedaling System), the product of extensive research and now the subject of worldwide patents. This system was especially designed for use in the standing position. It reduces the oscillations of the user’s center of gravity, thus avoiding the excess energy consumption caused by riding a classic pedal system in the standing position.

Many people find that pedaling standing up position spells ‘fatigue'. The reason for this fatigue is excess energy consumption due to the constant vertical oscillation of the rider’s center of gravity.

With every revolution of the pedals, the rider’s body rises and falls through 6.7 inches, the height of the crank. By repeating this movement 60 times per minute, the rider effectively climbs 33 feet—the equivalent of three story’s. It is hard to sustain this standing and pedaling for a long time.

The APS allows the user to pedal in a standing position with a natural movement similar to jogging, which minimizes the oscillations of the center of gravity and therefore also user fatigue, whilst contributing three major advantages:

1.     Standing up, the rider can put his/her full weight on the pedals and generate amazing acceleration.

2.     By optimizing the pedaling efficiency zone, this revolutionary pedal system lets you ride for long periods at high speed without undue muscle fatigue (12 to 18 mph at a brisk walking pace)

3.     Because the angle of the cranks never remains constant, the APS completely overcomes the dead center effects of classic pedaling.

Based on independent cranks and a coupling system with variable lever arms, the mechanism adapts to your available muscle power at every point in the circular trajectory of the pedals.

This eliminates the ‘neutral point’ problem of the classic pedaling situation.

Below explains the difference.
