Give
a Kid a Trikke
I would like to thank Ken @ Stand Up and
Ride for his support and dedication to our industry and for bringing to my
attention the following program.
We take our ability to ride our chosen mode
of transportation very much for granted. The following will do many things to one’s
soul. Uplift, inspire and move you to look inside at the many blessings God has
given us all and when you find it in your heart to give
Give
a Kid a Trikke
The following blog was reprinted from Ken
and his blog, web, store and now inspirational speaker.
I wanted to dedicate a post and show my
support to an idea that is close to my heart. “Give a KID a Trikke 3cv” is a
new program that gives a fun and possibly therapeutic “bike” to a special needs
child. I know that there are thousands of great causes out there that are backed by big non-profit organizations that
employ bunches of people to help get and distribute money for people in need
and many of us contribute to them. This effort is a little more cut and dry.
We simply want to give a cool toy to a
child that will appreciate it in ways we may not understand.
As
many of you know, I have a daughter that’s on the spectrum and there are many
things that present huge challenges for us. Over the years, I’ve tried really
hard to come up with solutions to help her enjoy things that she might not be
able to experience without a creative workaround. Parenting a child with Autism
can be exhausting, confusing and frustrating but when you find or create
something that makes a difference in their lives, it’s the most satisfying
parenting experience ever.
A
few years ago, I designed and built (with some help) some platforms that mount
on my ski boots to overcome my daughters sensory issues involved with ski
equipment. The expression on her face tells the success story.
More recently, my daughter has enjoyed a
few of the Trikke products with me.
Again, her face tells the story.
The reason I got involved with the “Give
a KID a Trikke 3cv” program is to help bring that story telling smile to other
deserving kids that face daily challenges that most of us cannot understand or
even imagine. I have a big soft spot in
my heart for all these kids and their families. I know first-hand how
interesting it can get when life throws us a curve ball when we’re expecting a
nice slow pitch down the middle so I want to get involved and help where I can.
If you would like to get involved too,
there are a few different ways to do it. Trikke has added a section to their
website to collect donations. If you simply want to make a donation, please
visit the Trikke Website. Another option
is to donate through the Stand Up And Ride site. We are offering T-shirts,
mugs, and other items with the logo to the left on them if you donate at a specific
level starting at $25. I will personally
pay for the item and the shipping so that 100% of the money you donate will go
to the purchase of a Trikke for a special needs child.
Most of the Stand Up Rides I have are
expensive pieces of equipment. The Trikkes that the kids ride are not, so even
a small donation can make a big difference in getting one. If it’s in your
heart and your budget, your financial support would be greatly appreciated. If
it’s not in the budget, please help us spread the word and show your support by
liking the Facebook page “Give a KID a Trikke 3cv”.
If you have any questions, drop Ken an
email @ StandUpAndRide@gmail.com
We here at DreamslideUSA will not only
find it in our budget and our hearts to start over the next couple of weeks.
Our own little version of this wonderful program that Ken has begun. We will
install a link on all of our material, websites and blogs with direct links and
information on how you can get involved.
DreamslideUSA would like to challenge all
manufacturers to get involved and we propose the following challenge.
My Company will donate 5% of all our
sales generated and linked to Ken and his Give a KID a Trikke program. We will
have a link on our website and donate 100% of the proceeds to the program.
If you have any questions about how my
company can assist you in the same campaign please do not hesitate to drop me an
email at roy@dreamslideamerica.com.
